Re: Introduction and in need of some wing parts

Hey Brian, I'm just across the river in Paragould and I have a bunch of wing parts and you're welcome to come dig through and get what you need. I don't have any butt ribs and not sure about the tip skin but I can take a look this weekend. I would use the D&E ribs for what you can't find.

Re: Introduction and in need of some wing parts

Thread gave me an idea. Small airports, at least out here, can be pretty boring places to fly into, sooo-- maybe I should start flying into multiple small airports in search of "dead" Taylorcrafts and parts. Also renew my old friendships with guys from my original airport group who are mostly at an airport north of here. Great excuse to check out a bunch of small airports where I have never been.

Tim, such a pessimist. Just posted at Flying magazine online:

The Santa Monica City Council is set on eliminating the historic Santa Monica Airport, voting for its closure on Tuesday night. This is not the first time the Council has voted to close the airport and it is strictly a symbolic vote. The airport is legally protected for now, but the city continues to spend copious amounts of taxpayer’s money in its attempt to find a legal loophole to achieve its mission. The Council’s target for the closure now is 2018 despite the fact that, as late as last week, the FAA reaffirmed the requirement of the city to operate the airport at least until 2023 through a Part 16 complaint filed by a long list of airport tenants and supporters, including NBAA and AOPA.
          Cheers,
          Marty

            welcome.

Suggestion make succinct and simple list of what parts you need and post it in the for sale and wanted section of the forum.

Thanks for the help fellas. Dustin - I sent you a pm. I'd love to fly over and take a look at what you have. I talked to Scott at D&E today. He was very helpful as well. My IA does not have a problem with using some D&E ribs if we need to.
