Hey guys this jack screw was the seat adjustment for out 15A Tourist. It obviously has broken (the seat in the plane is currently bolted and not adjustable). Does anybody recognize it? I though someone told me it was a jack screw used on the L2 somewhere but not sure. I find it hard to believe that the Conway incarnation of Taylorcraft had this thing made as the plane seems to have borrowed a lot from other manufacturers. Thanks

Re: Help with part
Looks like a acme thread. I"d measure it and look in the McMaster Carr web site to see if you can find a match. A machine shop could turn a new one out of bulk shaft for the bearing and retainer nut threads. Might check the threads on a old style c-clamp. They look similar. You might have to get a piece of new shafting AND a nut , and configure the nut and change the whole thing out. I think Fastenal carries a selection of acme threaded shafting also. However I believe I would try McMaster Carr first.

Re: Help with part
That is not acme, its a square thread. Have a machine shop make you one is the only practical way to replace it.
