In the morning, I'll go and look which model of mags she has. I'll let you know by 10:00 mountain time at the latest. If they are right, how much will you want for them??

        Re: O-200 short mount

The 0200 on the short mount is a tight fit. The 6qt oil tank must be cut and modified for engine mount clearance, baffles have to be modified just a bit and I made a new top & bottom cowl so there was no Clarence issues with the nose bowl. I also used the luscombe exhaust which Terry helped me get approval for in exchange for allowing him to use my idea. I had used the luscombe exhaust before on a field approval on 65 & 85hp short mounts...just worst so much better. As for prop, I use a McCauley 74/45 with the 0200 and it works really well, the 74/43 works well too but I prefer the first one better, depends on what ya wanna do with it I guess. The 43 I had to test with would let the engine almost red line on climb out but I think it was a little filed on the ends so it wasn't a true test. The 74" let's it turn about 2450-2500 @ 75-80mph climb and nearly 2000fpm. Will cruise 130-135mph @ 2400-2500rpms.

A normal 74/45 prop at an actual 2500 rpm yields about 107 mph at 100% geometric efficiency. Pitch at 0.75 radius station (45") x rpm (2500) x 60 minutes per hour (6,750,000" per hour forward)/inches per mile (63,360) = about 107 mph. Don't ever sell the prop, tach, or airspeed.

See http://www.pilotfriend.com/training/...wing/props.htm for some discussion, especially the derivation of geometric pitch from measured blade angle. I always wondered how prop shops came up with that.

Gary, the hand held GPS agreed with the ASI, tach was also accurate. It also has a lot to do with how your rigging is set.

We've got a modified short mount on our non electric O-200 Tcraft. (BC-12D) Seems to work out fine. We've put about 700 hours on it since acquiring the STC in 1995. No issues.
