Re: Ohio
Norm, the Alliance fly-in is usually around the 4th of July, if I remember correctly. Forrest has been absent from here except for a comment or two over the last year. He may post something on it, I don't know.
Turnout for Taylorcrafts is usually dismal, at least the two times I went. The people are great, like Ryan Newell and his family. I just cannot justify the all day trip to get there from Illinois for the lack of activity.Cheers,
Marty

Re: Ohio
Hey!!! Don't hang up! Man it's great to hear from you. A lot of the T-Crafters from the old site didn't make the jump or otherwise got lost about that time. Of course some have made their final flight. Some are approaching that adventure......i am just ripping past 85 and can see a limited future I am going to break through the barrier to the future full bore. I bought a new Indian scout last spring and and busted the 100mph post before the weather made that activity stupid. I want to break 140 before fall. I rebuilt the engine on the T-craft and it runs like there is no end. Lots of great flying but didn't get to Alliance last two years because of weather. I would have driven but my wife has parkinsons so I am pretty limited in the amount of time I can leave her alone. I see on face book that Forrest commented that there was going to be a some July activity and that people should plan on flying in. I'll check it out and try to get something posted for you. ....continuedRon C

Re: Ohio
I"m back...still there? I really miss your wit. There isn't even a 1/2 wit on the site any more. Maybe one from England. One of my favorite people. I watched him fly at Alliance one year. He is a good pilot and appeared to have a good time doing it. I wanted to meet him but I had to get back home before he landed. Have any questions? Just ask and I'll either tell you the truth or I'll not. At lest respond and I'll make you the absent curmudgeon.
Do it before I'm dead.

Re: Ohio
This is as good a time as any. We will have a flyin after a year off at Barber Field (2D1) this year, July 8,9,10 with the main day really being Saturday the 9th. I am going to say it will be a lower key affair, more about the commaradrie than forums or anything like that. I know Forrest would like to sell off many of the parts and things that he has. We will be there with our BC12D and the model 15A tourist and it would be great to see some others there as well. Feel free to contact me with any questions and there will be a more formal announcement in a few weeks.Ryan Newell

Re: Ohio
Ron .
Great to hear from you I did not know you were pushing 85 . What is an Indian Scout ??? Motorcycle . Good to hear from Ryan too. Get an Email from Richard Young on occasion and Darren Lucke .My son inlaw is showing up from California on the July 6th . And as I have not seen anyone since Fun in Sun 11 years ago . I am a thinking I will grab the Inlaw , hook up the travel trailer and head to Barber Field . Would be good to See Forrest before he retires , I still Hear his words when he met me for the first time ." Your nothing like i expected Stormman " I still see Robert Lees posting a bit. I Think this country will be turning around soon so my spirits are high this year. And now i am thinking i can't wait for July. What ever happened to Basitt Hound Bob Ollerton. . . I lost most of my Email stuff with my old computer and have been way out of touch with all my other problems of life and now feel the urge to GET UR GONEB 52 Norm

Re: Ohio
Hello Norm, good to see you still alive & kicking.
It's been a while since I've been to Alliance, but I still do Oshkosh every year. I was in September last year only 150 miles west from you in Fayetteville. Bob Ollerton is around. I assume you heard that Bruce Bixler sadly passed away.
With reference to the Indian, if you (or anyone else) gets the opportunity, watch The Worlds Fastest Indian. I'm not a motorcycle fan myself, but it's a lovely film well acted (the lead actor is a Brit of course).
Take care,
Rob

Now come on Norman, don't go to sleep on me! I just got charged for going over data, so don't make my sacrifice a futile gesture. I'll tell you what. You check in to us and I will post a pic of something that interests me (airplanes, motorcycles, cars, guns, grandmother bathing beauties. at least once a week until you cry "auntie". Send us a pic of your strip. Did you ever get access to your neighboring runway?
