  • Winter maintenance

Alaska's List is a huge, online service, featuring classified ads placed by people and businesses throughout the Greatland and beyond. Clean, well-organized, and professionally moderated, Alaska's List is classifieds done right!

Not an unusual activity up here and elsewhere. There used to be a few folks with mobile boom trucks (to lift the plane for gear or engine change) that would come to the owner's spot for maintenance. That and a big parachute thrown over the plane heated with a generator-fed kerosene heater and light bulb in winter. Don't see that much any more.

    Re: Winter maintenance

I pulled wings on my t-craft at -30, took me one night to remove the nuts from the bolts and screws, cables, etc. and then another night to push out the bolts and set the wings on the ground. Of course night started at about 3:30 pm in Delta...Tim
