  • Tachometer

I need to find a right angle drive for my tachometer. The techometer is from a 1940 Taylorcraft with a 65 hp engine.
The fitting is an entegral part of the techometer and attaches by pressing the fitting on to the rear of the tech and attaches with a screw that fits into a groove on the tech. fitting. I cross threded the right angle drive unit while trying to connect the tach cable. I'll purchase the fitting or a tachometer and the right angle drive unit. Any help will be appreicated. Thanks Rex

    OUCH!!

Can you take a small triangular file & tediously fix the threads?

Is that on one of the big SW tachometers?

        Re: Tachometer

The tachometer is a regular 3.5 inch. I tried reworking the threds, it did not work.
I have found an answer: Aircraft Spruce sells a right angle unit that fits to the tach. that the direction can be change from clock wise to counter clock wise rotation. With this unit I was able to purchase a regular techometer.
        thanks for the help. Rex
