  • Advice on Price

I'm not flying enough to justify keeping my Taylorcraft, so it's up for sale on Barnstormers. I have it priced at $17,000. I'd appreciate feedback on how recent sales have been and if that is a good price for her. Details:
1940 Taylorcraft BC-65 Light Sport. 3,038 TT, 915 SMOH,132 STOH with new Millennium cylinders. Annual Jan 2015. Empty weight 715, Gross 1150. Sealed struts. Hooker harness. Portable box with Mode C transponder, ICON transceiver, intercom. External antennas. Hangared KESN.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Just my opinion, but WOW, that sounds like a great deal.

Personally, I would like to see a picture of the instrument panel/interior, too. Also, the paint scheme may not appeal to some and that would take some money to address.

        Re: Advice on Price

Last year I sold a '41 Taylorcraft that is VERY close to the one that you are trying to sell. I started at a higher price, and after a year or so, dropped it to what I thought was the lowest I could take. It sold a couple months later at that price. $17,000. Therefore, I think that you have it priced exactly at it's true value. I wouldn't let it go for any less.
