  • Curtiss Pitts started with a Taylorcraft

Following Tim's airline post, it must also be remembered that it is this year the 70th anniversary of the Pitts Special.

Curtis Pitts built the first one out of Taylorcraft parts...65hp engine, mount, nosebowl, landing gear, tailfeathers, cut-up wings etc etc.

We Taylorcraft (and Pitts) owners have a lot of thanks to owe to CG Taylor.

There is also a lot of J-3 heritage in the Pitts: rear fuselage truss layout, control stick torque tube. Curtiss used what was available at the time.
