    Re: New Exhaust System

The company that repaired my system is Dawley Aviation, Inc. 140 industrial Dr. Burlington, WI 53105 800-338-5420
If you call them they can build you a complete system. The replaced, heat moff that I got from Univar was great and I have no problem recommending it to any one. If you purchase the heat muff. from Univair I will recommend changing the tinnerman nuts to the other flinge. At the present time if I need to inspect the exhaust for leaks, it will require pulling the engine becouse the screw head are on the bottom. by moving the tinnerman nuts to the opposite flange the screws will be on the top side and with a lot of work I thank they can be removed without pulling the engine. Hope this helps. Rex

      Re: New Exhaust System

I replaced the moth eaten exhaust system on N44305 (A-65) last December with new one from Wag-Aero - perfect fit.

I like the battery mod, who has the paperwork available ? Our FSDO is the office of "No" when it comes to 337s.

Are you talking the light weight Odyssey battery? I have gotten 2 approved on Taylorcrafts and several on Cessna's by field approvals. Tim

            Hi Tim,

Do you have any for Aeronca 7's?

No, but I can fill one out, do you want to install it on the firewall?

                Hi Tim,

I have a battery box mounted on the floor between the rudder pedals and against the firewall.

It is a normal size battery box and I was thinking of putting in that lightweight Odyssey dry cell.

                  Re: New Exhaust System

For years I ran a light motorcycle battery in a standard G-25 box relocated between the front pedals on my Citabria. Now it's quite common to use the PMA'd AGM batteries sold for aircraft in that box or in an approved mount elsewhere. I have one behind the seat of my Taylorcraft in the front of the baggage area, and previously had them installed in Supercubs and a PA-12 with no issues regarding Field Approval. See pics of the T-Craft installation below.

                  Edit:
I might add the aircraft weight and balance should be determined and the effects of a lighter battery noted before installation.
FYI: http://www.odysseybatteries.com/batteries/sbsj16.htm Note battery weight and the accessory mounts.

My PMI said I can put the lightweight battery
that is approved in the Super Cub, with a log book
Entry and W&B calculation. PMA'd battery going in
