Tubes

Anybody have a preference for tubes for the 6.00-6 tires on the Shinn wheels? I had a valve stem tear loose, just sitting in the hangar oddly enough. I think it was an Air Trac tube. How about valve stem extenders? Didn't have them on this one, but it's been like that for a long time with no problem.

Just a few weeks ago I had to replace an inner tube because of a small tear at the root of the valve stem (I wonder if the vulcanising perishes with time...tube was in excess of 20 years old). It had been on the aircraft all the time I had owned it, and like you it just went flat one day in the hangar. There are no markings on either of them.

Replaced by one I had in stock.

I do use valve extenders; Wally World cheapos; they seem to work just fine.

I believe running the tube under inflated will cause that. It always did.
