  • Thinking about buying a F 21

I sold my Bc12d/85 last summer to buy a Mooney. This was the second biggest mistake I ever made. I miss my little t craft terribly. I have found a 1980 F20 close to home. Is there much difference or things I should be concerned about with the newer ones.any input would be appreciated.

It won't fly like your BC12D-85 unless your 85 was on a long mount with full electrics, then you will notice the 21 will have more power and heavier on the nose.

I have an '80 F21 on skis and floats. 115 mph on wheels and Trickair skis, 92 mph on floats. It's a little short on fuel and a little tight inside but has Super Cub performance for a lot less money.

Jim, is there any issues other than leaking fuel tanks on the 40 gallon models that I should look out for?

no, but ours was 2005R and in CO so I thought it may have been ours since it is close to you.

'80 won't have the big wing tanks. It is basically a bc-12d with the lycoming on it, unlike the later models (F-21A) that has a bunch of changes made to them.
