  • I found a legal 74" prop for an c-85

I was perusing the TCDS's on props, the M76AK-2 prop is certified for an 85 engine, just have not found an airframe yet...Tim

"The maximum and minimum propeller diameters that can be used from a vibration standpoint are
shown below." Wonder exactly what they mean by this statement?

I think I know what they mean, but that sure is a wishy-washy way to phrase it.

    I want my 74-4X? !!!! Chuckle.

All I saw there was up to 74 for a 75 HP Continental. Everything above that HP rating was, again, 72 inch max.

C-85 series engines, not over 72...., the float plane with a 65 can go 83" with the Mckinney floats though, edo is limited to 76, but wrong engine, Tim

This is the document that I was looking at before I made the "show me the line" comment. If I go back to the original quoted link I do in fact see a 72 to 74 listing for a C-85 with a max rpm limit of 2575. Looks good to me. I think I must have missed the 3rd page when I first looked at the original link. Don't know. Now all I need is someone to loan me a 7443 or so, because I for sure am not going to buy a new one just to satiate my curiosity.

Would be fun to see 1500 ft/minute. The close-in crosswind turn that I sometimes do at my home airport would be at a very impressive angle, I bet.

I think maybe I will just look around a little closer to home. Chuckle.
