Hello all,
Pretty dumb thing to notice at this point admittedly, but just realized I've been running an induction spider from a C-85/0-200 on my A-75 for some time....or that's what it appears to be physically. The stamped part number on the spider is "4541" which doesn't match the numbers in my books, but it sure looks like the C-series and 0-200 spider (straight riser, big throat compared to a #4780, no bevel above the carb mount flange, etc.).
I don't like to make changes in bunches...tough to analyze issues and solutions that way...but I think I will go ahead and put a 4780 spider in, since I have a couple of them and that's what the book calls for. Any chance the bigger spider could've been the reason for my plugs indicating a rich condition for awhile now even though the carb should be the limiting factor? I'm a firm believer in allowing internal combustion engines to "breathe" but I figure the 4780 is what was called for so one of them will likely be going in. Any comments relative to doing this?
Also, is the spider with #4541 stamped on it actually the correct C-85/0-200 intake? I will hopefully have a use for it in the near future if so, but would like to confirm.
thanks
