Joel: My 1945 BC12D (39208) is a 1941 fuselage with 1945 wings (fifteen built-up ribs) from new in 1945. The fuselage was built in 41 and then Pearl Harbor interrupted production. After the war, they used the old fuselage and called it a BC12D.
In my opinion, with the new wings you should be able to go for 1200lb gross weight (assuming the original 1940 model was 13-rib, 1150lb).
Joel,
Any upgrade to new, improved, bolt on parts with out changing the gross wieght or major alterations to the airframe is legal on a 337 and a sign off from and AI.Engine upgrades,etc.etc. are another matter.
Been looking at my 46 wings and am beginning to wonder if it may be easier to put the 46 wing tanks in the original 1940 wings already hanging on the BL.
Anybody have any experience with that?
My underdash valves are also MIA what do you guys suggest for a replacement or does anyone have a used set they would part with?
