The thread about the expired airwortiness certificate and recently helping an other fellow got me thinking.
1. If you still have a paper pilot certificate you are not legal to fly. You should have a new plastic certificate and you current mailing address updated with the FAA.
2. If you have owned your airplane for quite a while and don't remember renewing your registration certificate please check to make sure your airplane is still registered with the FAA. If you don't your number could be given to another aircraft.
3. If your airplane does not have a permanent airworthiness certificate you need to get one. This is something that happens when airplane were put in storage back in the 40's and 50's, and then pulled out and brought back to flying status.
