He loved it
The funniest was when I said "pull back -A LITTLE-"
He pulls on back to about 2.5 G's and folds over in his seat still holding the yoke (above his head now).
He was laughing the whole time and I could barely catch my breath I was laughing so hard.

Another thing he said after every time I'd respond to the tower with my instructions.
I got from my ever faithful co-pilot "That great idea daddy"
Just turned 4
What a great day we had flying.

Thank you so much for the post, THAT is what keeps me going; kids and aircraft... We do a lot of Young Eagles here ; both my Grandsons loved flying. I miss them!

Here's a little video. He was trying to be a good pilot so he remembered when I said "you need to look out for other airplanes every couple of seconds look out the windows to check"

That was wonderful!!He will no doubt be a future pilot.My grandson is eight months old,and this spring I want to get he and his dad up in my T-craft.It will be three generations to take a ride in old bird at once.This T-craft was my Fathers back in the late forties until the early 60,s.I have owned it since 1973,so a ride by us all at once will be four generations to have been in it from my family.Looking forward to this.Your video inspired me to make this happen this spring.We need to keep our youth in touch with aviation,as they are tomorrows general and professional pilots,who in turn can preserve these old airplanes and keep them flying.

Yeah, I never thought of our family as an "aviation" family. But my mom worked for Frank Christensen as a purchasing agent (I think) back in the mid 80's. I used to "build and fly" (in my imagination) planes I built from the scraps of a local cabinet shop. I still have her pictures when they chained the three of them (eagle aerobatic flight team) together for a display (seriously they were tied by 15 feet of chain, taxi, take-off, routine, landing, taxi). I'll get the video up sometime if I can ever find it again (mom's old vhs sales video), but I do have the pictures in my desk that I'll scan and post tomorrow. So... The age you see my little guy.... It was me, the 80's, and I was watching the 3 amigos of the sky doing things I've yet to see repeated. I really REALLY hope I can find that video ... It's still insane (though the "extreme" music will make you chuckle).

Great thread. We really enjoyed the story and pics. Perhaps the best way and our responsibility as pilots we have to protect general aviation from the many monsters trying to kill it is by sharing/passing our love for flying and the classics on to youth. The attached pics are of my now 10 year old son, was 5 at the time of this flight from in-laws in St Louis to Rochester NY in a piper warrior. He stayed awake and was my Otto Pilot much of the time. I was amazed that Cleveland Class B actually encouraged him to talk on the radio. It was a great time.

This fall we purchased our first aircraft, restored 1947 BC12d-4-85. We've had a blast in it and getting used dragging the tail around and keeping it behind us. He can't really reach rudder pedals well, but has good airspeed/altitude/heading control. Before the snow hit he did a simulated engine out, glided a few miles and did half a pattern to land nicely on the grass. Rethinking he may throw me out now.

Usually before I have the tank topped off, he's cleaning the bugs off the leading edges and on his creeper degreasing the belly. Unfortunately, work and winter have prevented flight since December 1. So N95938 has 6 coats of wax on it. You buff faster when you're freezing. LOL Some say it's overweight with wax and will never fly.

What am I doing wrong? I selected attach pics and selected a few but nothing uploaded.

Check the size of the photos. There is a size limit and you may need to re-save them (UNDER A NEW NAME!) in a smaller format.
