When did Taylorcraft place the large rear windows in? My 1977 F-19 looks the same as this one. Thanks

I have a log book entry for 6627N in 1986 that states "Installed new side windows." I assumed my rear windows were original from the factory in 1950 but I'm curious if this entry is pertaining to the addition of those rear windows or if it was referring to 'replacing' the existing side windows? Also, I never paid much notice to the dash in the serial number. I would be interested in finding out the answer to that one as well!

The side windows I know came on the original model 19s built in Conway penn in the early 1950s. I have seen photographs of 1947-48 tcraft a built in alliance after the main factory closed and they did not have them. Would not be surprised if your rear windows are original. They fit the time period. What does your baggage area look like? I left my sling out because you would see it in the window but the tabs are still there. Wondering if yours is set up differently.

I did a bit of research using the FAA registration data base and it appears that the 13000 serial numbers began in 1949 and the prefix indicated the model:

          2-13xxx BC12-D
          3-13xxx BC12-D-85
          4-13xxx BC12D-4-85 and Model 19

Adamo13 indicates that his airplane has an A65 installed and his serial is a 3-13xxx which doesn't fit with the system. Maybe it originally was a factory 85 hp and was converted to an A65.?.
