Re: Paul
Hi guys, greetings from outer space,
I had posted this idea on the EAA forums, and on the Back Country Pilot Forums. So far the response has been very good. If any of you feel the same way I do, please help create some inertia for this idea. Vintage airplanes and pilots have benefited from Paul's efforts as much as homebuilts IMHO.
-----------------------------------
I had an idea yesterday when I heard that Paul had passed away.
I think EAA should print up small stickers, using a version of the old original EAA logo, that says "Thank you Paul" and nothing else. People can put these on the tail of their airplane, and pay a small tribute to Paul every time they fly... Paul will fly with them. These should be free to all EAA members and even the pilot public.
The stickers will cost five or six cents each, EAA can do this out of pocket change.
I posted this idea on the EAA internet forums and so far the response has been good. Someone already sent it to Jack Pelton. If you agree with this little idea, please help me get the rank and file EAA members behind it, and help me get a huge wave of support for this.

-------------------------------------
There is a thread on the EAA forums page of course, which is probably the best place to get your opinion heard by EAA HQ. If you support this idea, please spread the word among the pilot community, and have them make sure EAA HQ knows about it.Taylorcraft : Making Better Aviators for 75 Years... and Counting

Re: Paul
I've been an EAA member since 1973. I first met Paul Poberezny when he flew his P-64 at an airshow our EAA Chapter 400 organized at the Altoona-Blair Co. Airport in 1973. EAA and sport aviation have been such a huge influence in my whole life, I would be very pleased to show a "Thanks, Paul" EAA sticker on my aircraft. What a great idea! So, through EAA HQ, or private venture, either way would be great. I'll go to the EAA site and make sure HQ knows about my interest. -Paul Nuss

Re: Paul
Im very saddened to hear of Pauls passing I was watching his recent comments about the how the EAA got started on the EAA web video site just a few days ago, I had the good fortune of meeting him a few year ago , he was a gentle soul, and a friend of all .I would also like to see a tribute to him.

Re: Paul
After I get the wings back on my Taylorcraft, I will make a push to complete my Paul-designed Acrosport-II. I had the good fortune to meet him a few years ago at Oshkosh, and the good sense to thank him sincerely for designing such a nice biplane.
I think the idea for stickers is wonderful.

Standing in front of dad's 1929 Curtiss Robin C-1, here's a photo of Paul Poberezney with Robert Taylor, founder of the Antique Airplane Association. The photo was taken in 1975 at Antique Airfield.

Re: Paul
Thanks for sharing the photo of your dads Curtiss Robin with Bob Taylor and Paul Poberezny, will you make it to the AAA flyin this week? I had heard that Paul use to frequent the AAA flyin in years past and was kind of a part of it, do you know more of the story,? I guess we were all lucky in some way to have been connected to such a great ledgeon of aviation.Last edited by waltermrich; 08-27-2013, 16:50.
