  • Finding old N-number plane history

    Group
I have a 46' BC12-D fuselage serial number 7809. I am trying to find a little history on the plane with it's original N95509#. I was able to find out that N95509 was test flown on 4-19-46 by Reese Edwards, but that is all that I know. I bought the fuselage from an old Gentleman South of Portland Oregon in 2007. Today that N-number is currently registered to a power parachute in No.Carolina. I am looking for pointers on where I could look, write, email for possible information on old N-numbers. Thanks.

The FAA should have a CD on file for that aircraft prior to the changeover to the powered parachute. Try this link: http://aircraft.faa.gov/e.gov/nd/

A serial number for the Taylorcraft should delineate between your Taylorcraft and the powered parachute.
    Cheers,

      Brian,

You can ask the FAA for a CD of your aircraft's history (what they have of it). Use the serial number ... in your case 7809.

I don't know the web link to be able to get the info; I always ask the kind FAA folk at Oshkosh & they send me a CD free. [Edit] In fact I think if you use the original N number and the fact that it's a Taylorcraft, they still find the right data.[/Edit]

Someone will chime in with the web address.

Well, Marty jumped in before I posted my message!

Reese Edwards also test flew mine April 1st 1946...what a day that must have been!

Robert thanks for your input too..... I think Reese Edwards must have had a fun job.
