  • Taylorcraft Owner's Club - under new editors

This week I was in contact with Dana Osmanski, who advised me that she and her husband Paul have taken over The Taylorcraft News (quarterly newsletter of the Taylorcraft Owners Club) from Steve and Sharon Krog. I am not sure how many people on this forum are members of the TOC, but this is the organization that existed for many years under the direction of Bruce Bixler. Bruce turned over the helm to Steve Krog several years ago. Steve did a good job of keeping things going and he produced a quality newsletter. And now it is being passed on again. Here is the email I got from Dana...

    Hi Terry,

It was great to talk with you today! Thank you for all the good information. You may not know this, but my husband, Paul and I have purchased the Taylorcraft Owners Club from Steve & Sharon Krog. We are excited to be caretakers of this great club and to continue the traditions of the grassroots aviation that it encourages.

Again, I really appreciate your help with this and knowing about your website!

    Sincerely,

    Dana Osmanski

I discussed this in greater detail with Dana under separate dialog. It sounds like she is very enthusiastic about making improvements to The Taylorcraft News and building on the TOC as a club. Dana was interested in wanting to know more from the membership what they can do to make positive changes.

Here are some other quotes from Dana...

"That is EXACTLY my intentions with the TOC is to really focus on Taylorcrafts and be VERY specific to these aircraft, with very little bleed over."

"In addition I intend to reach out to owners all over the country to get folks involved in the club. We are almost complete with a brand new Cub Club website and the next one to work on is the TOC website that will very much encourage folks to participate and become involved in the club.

Re: Taylorcraft Owner's Club - under new editors

Does anyone know what's going on with the Taylorcraft Owner's Club? This thread is old and I heard that the Omanski's went into default or somehow messed up and everything went back to Steve Krog. But that was over a year ago.

      Wondering what's up?

Re: Taylorcraft Owner's Club - under new editors

I know there was a lawsuit and it went back to Steve Krog some time ago. I want to say I heard the "newsletter" was combined with Cub and maybe Luscombe club newsletters? EAA Vintage Assoc. shows this for contact info:

        Taylorcraft Owner’s Club
        1002 Heather Lane
        Hartford WI 53027
        262-966-7627
        [email protected]
        Steve & Sharon Krog
        Website: www.taylorcraft.org
        $35/yr US, Canada; $40 Int’l USD
        Publication: Taylorcraft News, Quarterly

Strange that the club is or was using the foundation web address, I don't ever remember them being active on this forum, which is unfortunate. Seems the club may have gone the way of the factory, foundation and Forrest. As far as I'm concerned, this forum and its resources of knowledge held by the participants IS "Taylorcraft."

Re: Taylorcraft Owner's Club - under new editors

The club was represented and selling memberships at Oshkosh. I joined and received some stickers and a newsletter late august.

Imo there's more to be gained by merging the club with everthing and anything associated with this site/forum/foundation. Not much demand for old style newsletters these days and whatever resources are behind them will have a greater benefit if working for one organization as opposed to two.

I know very little about the structure and ownership of either the foundation or the club but where there's a will there's a way.
