Anyone have any ideas on removing the left bottom plug on my A-75 with Cessna 140 exhausts? I can not get a socket over the plug for hitting the exhaust tube. The socket I am using is a 3/8 drive deepwell, which just fully engages the hex on the plug. This is the shortest socket in my box. I would appreciate any suggestions on sockets that might be available which would eliminate removing the LH exhaust.

Re: Spark plug removal??
My years of "playing" with my old chevys, I have used an open or boxed end wrench to get to spark plugs that were right behind the headers.
Not sure if you can do this or not in this situation. I think you would need a 7/8 open or box end wrench. Just a guess.Dale

Re: Spark plug removal??
I appreciate the input. A box-end will not reach deep enough. I modified a 3/8” drive x 7/8” six-point socket by shortening both ends and adding a chamfer to give more clearance past the exhaust tube. I also modified a 3/8”-1/2” adapter by milling a 5/8” hex on the end. Hopefully, I can slide the socket on, insert the adapter and loosen with a box end. Sure hope it works!MIKE CUSHWAY
