  • Fun in the Sun 2013

Many have pointed out that a lot of the Taylorcraft folks do not make it to Florida this time of year. I did it about 14 times. I have to miss this year.
The Foundation Forum on Thurs 11AM will be moderated by our Illustrious Web Master and True Believer ; Robert "Bob" Ollerton. He will have a few up to date thoughts and reports that will be posted here later. If you are there , let us know what is happening. I just have to run the airport; deal with health issues in the family ( I am good) .
Go to the web site www.barberaircraft.com and check out the Events section and the links Many new things happening.

The Regional FAA is meeting with me next week to discuss "assets" in NE Ohio perhaps some GA money may trickle down ...

God Bless all and keep the tribe forum alive and well . Yes i will do a newsletter after SNF..... bye

I sure wish someone in the Tribe could video the sessions and post them to you-tube for those of us who can't get there.

Re: Fun in the Sun 2013

All the Airventure forums have been audio in the past and I have them here. Bill Murphy has done a lot of video at the Alliance Reunions. Bill just sent us a crate of Florida Oranges & Grapefruit.
At least I will get the tastes of SNF .
Perhaps the forum will be recorded only a few die hard members do both .......WE are getting into a LOT of video up here at 2D1. Multicopters and cameras all over, some this afternoon. Many thanks to the "Respected Taylorcrafter" you have been a wonderful forum user. There are many others too and I will note them in the newsletter which comes out April 20th....

Re: Fun in the Sun 2013

Just got off I-phone with Bob Ollerton. Both Taylorcraft forums had about 20 people each. I did not book the Foundation forumn this year. New forums people sort of went with last years format . A few were double booked. Many thanks again to Bob and the ones that showed up. I will post what I sent down with Bob and get back on later. WE had major wind damge in the area last night. Portage County airport north of us ahd a T-hangar blown over 5-6 ships hurt. We had limbs down and one large tree. I am going back with big tractor and blade to clean up.

Re: Fun in the Sun 2013

Here is info I sent down by Bob a gram:

State of the Taylorcraft Foundation April 2013: by Forrest
Welcome all member’s guests and friends. It has been quite a year for 2013 and 2012. We had many problems here in NE Ohio with government, weather, field conditions (we are on Sod) and health issues in the family. The tribe members sure jumped in and kept things going on the discussion forum. Bob Ollerton along with all my close contributors has been our greatest asset.
Bob agreed to appear here at Sun-n-fun and lead the meeting for 2013, I almost made it but spring dawned early and I have to be here to meet the manager’s obligations. YES we will have a fly-in the Alliance this year; this is all posted on the web site www.barberaircraft.com PLEASE use it for information.
The factory: Who knows , I have tried many times they appear and disappear on the internet . To my knowledge it is owned by the firm that bought it and wanted to produced parts in Mexico and put her together in Brownsville, perhaps someone in the audience has some information.
Drawings: I still have them here and they are available for members to copy and use. The 4 CD set is for the tandem Taylorcraft model D and all L-2’s along with a great deal of other information.
Parts: They are running low in the old barn; we have many members who use owner produced parts. Here in Alliance I have people who want to set up a weld shop and do more. If you will check my web site and use the links you will see that there are many projects going on in and around Alliance.

The Taylorcrafter: our very own electronic newsletter, no advertisements, just facts: Bob please explain about the newsletter below is part of FIRST ONE:
          By and for is important.
This was an employee newsletter at the OLD Factory.
I had hoped members would submit little additions, perhaps even BOB …
          THE TAYLORCRAFTER
A publication of the Taylorcraft Foundation
By and for the members of the Taylorcraft Foundation.
          Volume 1, Number 1
          Feb. 2007
“We at the Foundation have elected to do a newsletter three times per year or more depending upon the reception by the members. This publication will be sent electronically only unless some members wish it mailed to them.
Some members of the Taylorcraft Owner’s Club will find this feature desirable and can make special arrangements for this mailing.
This first issue will be a trail run to see how it all works for all the membership of both associations. “
Then we can move on to other stuff from the newsletters:
Remember how it works, join the Foundation and get a number, put it in the message header on all e-mails, if you have one pending use TF#xxxx till you get one. We only process each month or two. IF you use pay-pal, you MUST send an application too!
Best way is still to mail a check & application together.
I am here Tues, Wed & Thurs afternoons 1:00 PM to 4:30PM EST to do e-mails and answer questions. Office: 330.823.1168 I-phone: 330.495.5447
Used Parts are sold by Barber Aircraft, and listed there too! www.barberaircraft.com I do not usually respond to the private messages on the discussion forum. E-mail me direct: [email protected] or 3304955447
I think this will be enough if you have any other thoughts e-mail me; bye Forrest
