Dave Allen in Chandler AZ owns the plane. Sure looks familiar (I must be getting old, I was looking at the plane!). Is he here and not using his name? Jim, you used to own the plane didn't you, any more information?

Evidently Dani Medin is a professional model, but at least she can prop a plane!

Not older - just wiser - we've all got a better shot with the plane than with the girl.

Regardless - if it will bring more people into GA and Taylorcrafts in general, then I say "What the heck!!!"

The website is not up and running yet. A search shows that she is a good sled driver and with her looks she will certainly draw attention to herself, I mean that beautiful example of a Taylorcraft.

A buddy of mine used that same computer software for a quick motorcycle movie I shot of our local HOG group.

              Re: Potentially exciting website/Video Coming?

Yes that IS the plane I sold not long ago to dave allen. it's based at Stellar Airpark, Chandler Arizona. It was rebuilt by Al Zoltish of Akron airport near Buffalo ny in 1996. You can also see it on antique airfield scroll to Casa grande air show. Stellar airpark is LOADED with beautiful old aircraft, from staggerwings to Taylorcrafts, the whole 9 yards. I had this airplane on this site for sale a year ago but no one was interested. I let it go for 21,500.00 with 600 hrs on frame and engine since total rebuild. He took my new McCauley 74/43 prop off and put on an illegal old polished McCauley. It was a steal. You may recall its only flaw was bot enough silver undercoat during its painting. I explained this carefully to Dave and he said Bo problem as he had an excellent hangar for it. It flew out there without a murmur. attn: Windknot you might want to check Adrian Michigan airport as my Other BC12D MAY be for sale. It's also a trophy winner. Best, JC

If you check p51 crash at stellar airpark you will see a tragic tale. A beautiful P51 flown by , according to friends of his a great person, the plane, formerly owned by frank Bormann, on final, too fast , bounced, lost control and plunged into a hangar. Tragic! JC

That P-51, Su Su II, was based here in Springfield for a time before being sold to the guy in AZ. I have some formation pictures of it from the back seat of my friend's P-51, Worry Bird.

                    Re: Potentially exciting website/Video Coming?

For those worried about the legality of polished props (some require it some don't), the requirement is the prop be protected by a coating to prevent corrosion (and yes, the most dangerous corrosion would be in the bolt holes and under the attach hardware where you can't see it). The good news is there is a coating that is CLEAR so you can keep the polished look. I will try to dig up the supplier, but it is hard as nails and meets the requirement for painting the prop.

That is a FINE looking airframe. Well put together and a credit to exercising the engine regularly.

JC - Talked today to the lady that runs Sky Walker Air - she's a hoot - Her response "I own airplanes - everything's for sale." Was actually considering going down there (2 hrs south of me) to finish up my last bit of training in their Allegro and check ride in that, but someone just cracked it up and its totaled.

I've got a line on a 1200 gw w/85 that I dont need to move quickly on, but logistically there's issues that I've not yet been able to overcome, but nothing is insurmountable when buying a plane is concerned. Where there's a will there's a way, where there's a pre-nup, you just tread a little more carefully!!!

her husband flew it from Maryland to Michigan. When it left here it was in great shape. It was rebuilt also near buffalo by a buddy of the one you see with the girl model. It's a 65 HP but may still be in very nice condition as it was when it left here two years ago. it's worth the drive just to see it as its ....or was , a trophy BC12D! The builder had done two more exactly the same and he flys one, his son, the other. Workmanship fantastic. I also know where there MAY be a very nice 85hp BC12D almost finished. No starter. JC

                          Re: Potentially exciting website/Video Coming?

3 years ago having a very nice polished prop, an old McCauley on my red white and blue t craft, I questioned east coast propeller very carefully about the legality of the prop as I wanted to keep it. They replied that the ONLY prop allowed to be polished was the kind you see on things like beech 18's....Hamilton standard propellers. They further said that they could treat and paint the prop silver but mentioned nothing about a clear coat. About that time the roof collapsed on the plane, the new wings were installed by the AI and it was as good as new as the fuselage, prop were not damaged BUT the AI would not, after checking with the faa, approve the prop so the new owner sent it to east coast and they painted it silver with red white blue tips to match the airplane. 400.00 bill. It's entirely possible the current prop on 43338 is clear coated but east coast never mentioned this as possible. Strange. JC
