I think I finally found out how this was done


It was a special paint from Dupont that formed the swirls as it dried, that's why they're all different shapes and sizes. One other use was on guitars


Now if only I can find out how to replicate it...

use 2 or 3 different size paint brushes and try swirling away lol

I met a guy last fall that has a dipping process were he can do all kinds of patterns. I have some pictures, some were around here. I will try to post them ( if I can find them). He is Mike Hamp the grandson of Harold Hamp. Mr Hamp holds the stc for the safe start system.

It's all in the paint, it formed the swirls as it dried. The only way to accurately replicate it is to figure out the formula of the paint. It was sprayed on, not dipped. I've already turned up some leads-

I hope you are able to find a good lead. Could it be replicated by applying hot air through varying sized orifices at different angles to affect the cure rate? Maybe an option if your lead falls through?
