I may be flying with a student until 11 Saturday morning. If all goes well, I'll try to make it out there for lunch.

Afraid the cylinders are going to be a week late! Perhaps next year?

Sorry I will miss the Taylorcraft group meeting Terry. Please keep me posted. I definitely want to be involved.

              Greg,

I'm going in my Navion from Hooks. I'm always up for passengers. You're welcome to join me. I'm thinking of trying to arrive ~10-11 and return whenever. Check your PM.

I walked around a Navion a couple of times. SO, how many can you carry? Eight or ten? Had to pack a lunch to get all the way around! That is ON BIG TOUGH airplane! Landing gear looked like they lifted it from a WW-II fighter!

It's only got 4 seats but I've got a wet bar and fridge in the back;-) I'm a big guy and it sure is comfortable. It's size and performance does tend to impress. When I overflew Fort Parker last time some folks on the ground asked a friend if I really intended to land - it's 2000'. His response was "just watch". I was off the runway well before most to the Taylorcrafts. A high lift wing, barndoor flaps and 300hp do wonders. Let's not talk about the fuel bill.

I was there... I knew you could make it in, but had no idea you could land shorter than I did in my 140! Impressive.

You should have heard them talk when my friend Walt came in with his Comanche! He used just about every inch of that runway.

I plan to be there, but will most likely drive this time. Some forecast of wind, possible rain at my home airport and can't afford to get stuck there. I'll bring the camera though and that's the most important thing!

I'm planning on coming, but then I looked at the TAF for GRK tonight...

Not sure I'll be able to make it. Don't want to fly a fabric plane through hail. Maybe the forecast will change. Will make the decision about 9 tomorrow.

We'll 300 to 700 ceilings between me and the fort. By the time the ceiling is up then got taf rain. Maybe next year.

This one's in the books folks. Mostly socked in all day today. Only one Taylorcraft showed up... the only airplane. Dave Turner from Angleton TX came in Friday afternoon. Maybe a half dozen more Taylorcraft owners/pilots drove. And also another half dozen other pilots/enthusiasts drove. After lunch today Dave was awarded 1st place for the spot landing contest. Then around 2:30 he went up and proved that he was really worthy and planted a perfect 3-point just about 10 feet beyond the designated grass clump. He liked the ceilings enough that he decided to head for home. We'll report more soon. Leann and I have stayed and are gonna enjoy a peaceful night here at the old fort.
