Looking for a nice set of the steel (not cast) aileron hinges. I'd love to have a complete set of left and right ones. Needing just the parts that attach to the rear wing spar.

Flying is easy- to go up you pull back, to go down you pull back a little farther.
While I was rigging my ailerons following cable replacement I had the bellcrank to cable bolt in with no washers. How nice! The bolt thread hits the tube and holds the crank close to neutral while you thread the turnbuckle on.
Did the light just go off? I tried it with a thin washer and it stuck that way too! We need to get the word out to the guys with the welded aileron fittings to take a look. With the aileron down and a flash light it is a 10 second inspection. I went through my drawer of AN-3 bolts with the correct grip and several of them had longer threads than the old AN ones. With one of those in there the threads definitely hit the tube. With the longer bolt it took 3 thick washers and then the threads were in bearing.
This is an EASY inspection to do, even on a pre-flight and could be a real "gotcha" if anything shifted a tiny bit and you were close to hitting the threads on the tube.
We need a method to get these things we find out to the tribe. Maybe a thread to alert each other. Not everyone reads all the threads.

Hey Mike- Did you find any extras? I think I have the center hinges and pushrods. Just need the outer and inner. If I had just one to go by I can make a set. Maybe the next option is to borow one for a bit.
Hank- good post as well. That is an area I look at on every Tcraft I see at fly-ins etc.

I have a set of welded hinges for the 45 if someone will make a fixture to make more. I won't be putting these on the 45 wing for a while but will need them back when I start the rebuild.

Eric I have one set off a prewar, rather rusty but straight I believe. They came off the wing I bought out in Salt Lake City. I can take a pic and send to you if you would like. I am only holding on to them just in case I needed them for my rebuild but I don't believe I will need them.
