I would be checking it out......if I didn't already have my project. The listing is a few weeks old, I bet it is gone!

If the engine is off the plane those pics are not accurate, you might be buying a basket case and if so that sounds little high. IMHO...........L

I think it's all together. I've called and called. The widow is apparently a night owl. She does not do e-mail she does not return phone calls and the whole thing is a bit too much for me to do so far away. The nephew told me it's got razorback on it. It hasn't been run in a LONG time. It's nice to see a picture finally. If I could do the A65 I would be all over it, on a commercial flight with my checkbook etc. Somebody needs to take a look. It's a shame that the original deluxe panel has been re-done in wood.

Sorry Larry, I didn't read the craigslist ad fully, basket case yes. The ad I've seen is on Global Aircraft search and it is dated there from Feb 9. Like I said the owner could probably sell it but she's not very communicative.

I know about this 41 T-craft. I can help with info. on condition of engine and plane. I was friends with the owner. Since he has passed away, his daughter was left with the plane. I don't think she would mind if I answer some of your questions. She is hard to get a hold of. Please e-mail me at [email protected] or you can call me at 574-291-8950 home phone. Thanks George Bassett

The airplane used to belong to Bill Haselton, a friend of mine, deceased about 4 years ago. I used to annual the airplane. Covered with razorback fabric/cooper dope. Engine was a fairly fresh overhaul (7 or 8 years ago?). Don't understand why it is removed. Exhaust was new at overhaul. Refinished about 7 years ago. Problem-13 rib wings.

Two years ago someone broke into the hanger and removed the engine and prop. At time of removal they also removed all the cowling with no damage to it. About a week later the engine minus prop reappeared in front of the hanger. Not sure what to think about the situation. At this time the plane engine is on motor mount setting on hanger floor. Bill and I had hangers at the same field and were good T-craft friends. George

So I wonder if it is the same engine?....Maybe someone took the engine and left a core! I was wanting to know what is razorback fabric? Plus what is wrong with 13 rib wings? Would they be wood ribs? Does it have wing tanks? Thanks!

Yes, It is the engine and everything is there, not just a core. I saw it about 3 weeks ago. Razorback fabric is a fiberglass cloth covering. Not sure about about wood ribs and 13 ribs. I can check inspection covers and find out. I think it has wing tanks but will double check. George

Thanks George! So Razorback fabric would be heavier then polyfiber covering?

The 13 rib wings went on Ts with 1100 or 1150 pound gross weight. The BC12s had 15 rib wings and a gross weight of 1200 pounds. Ribs are aluminum. 12 gallon nose tank and 6 gallon tank in the right wing.

Well that is not good. I'm 6'4" and around 240. So for someone my size, it would be a one person taylorcraft. Plus with the heaver fabric and loaded with fuel, I would have to cut off one of my legs and maybe an arm!

I travelled 2600 miles round trip to buy this airplane. I had good money in my pocket to make the purchase. I was not allowed to see the plane. The theoretical owner of this plane is well shall we say, unorthodox in her selling methods. If you are thinking about this airplane, e-mail me and I will tell you everything I know. DO NOT attempt to purchase without contacting me about my experience. I wish you all the best in acquiring this plane (someone needs to). Call me maybe I can help you prepare yourself for what you are about to get into with this theoretical owner. Does the term "rubber room" or "padded cell" mean anything to you. 210 862 8607 or [email protected]. I will lay it all out for you. Good luck.
