If they are the narrow 1" lining, not much unless someone has to have one. towards bottom end of martys guess. straight axle should be for luscombe and should be 1 1/4". the inners are interchangeable and would work for tcraft especially if it has the 1 1/2" brakes
Thanks guys, a friend of mine has a 1937 Aeronca KC that had the old 3" wheels, and of course can't get tires (or find the 4" Lamb adapters), so wants to go to 6" wheels, but old timey ones. The wheels do have brake drums on them, I think the wide ones, but the Aeronca doesn't have brakes so not an issue. I told him I'd give him a good deal on the Shinns, just wanted to see what a good deal was. He has 1 1/2" axles, but I found that the 13889 bearings will fit this installation, same as the PT-22 Shinn wheels.

i did not know pt-22 run shinns, any pics of them installed?
PT-22 Shinn wheels look almost the same, but are stamped for (I think) 1150 lbs each capacity. Brake mounts are integrel with the backing plates, but the brake components are again almost exactly the same, except the ends of the wishbone are at a different angle so that they can use a hydraulic brake cylinder to push on the top of the wishbone to actuate the shoes, instead of the cable pulling on it. Also, the lining is on the shoes instead of the drum. I have a pair in the shop and will try to remember to take and post photos this week.

I know exactly what your talking about, and have had a bunch of them over the years. never knew exactly what they went on, now I do, thanks
I have some EARLY Shinns ...NO Brakes. Both sides are the same ! Value to 99% of us is little. For the dude that wants a museum piece or never leaves his Grass Strip with his tail skid...well perhaps worth something.... If I had a BIG farm ei ei o...
