  • Need Bendix Magnetos

    Hi all,

A friend of mine was ferrying a plane back from Florida to the St. Louis area and lost a mag in Humboldt, TN, (I think that is what he said). Anyway, he asked me if I had a set of Benidix mags, (for an A-65 on a Fly Baby), for sale. I didn't, but told him I would put the request out here.

    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Marty

I have a pair of non impulse bendix mags that I'd sell.
1940 BC-65 that needs minor work...

The old Bendix "bricks" are good magnetos. I have a couple that I keep in storage for my old age as a pension fund. In the interim, they hold down the fence posts when here in the UK we get the remnants of the American storm systems.

Everyone seems to be buying slicks (ugh!).

I prefer Eismanns...light, simple and easy to work on. But I need coils.

New coils are available from a company in California.
Can't remember the name but if you need it slip me a PM & I'll go search till I find it.

Fresno Airparts has coils and complete overhauled mags.

They had two overhauled Bendix mags with a new harness and plugs is something like $775 exchange.

Why would one buy slicks with a deal like that around?

                Fresno...here I come....

Need 2 Bendix SF4RN-20 and 21 or maybe two -21 The CASE mags that are on now are barely putting out any spark, hard to star the engine when hot I guess tiered after working since 1946 and ready to go into retirement. The A&P IA suggested either Bendix or slicks. Someone mentioned to me that another alternative would be Einseman? Dont know/heard much about them, though.

Does anyone have Bendix laying around, spares that would like to sell. Thanks

Will check Fresno in the morning, following Dave's suggestion.
