    Re: Times change!

At one time in the '70's I had 2 Stinsons for sale.

One weekend 46 (FORTY-SIX) people inquired about the aircraft.

Some showed up with kids & it became evident that all they wanted was a ride.

There are people that inform "buyers" that if they wish to fly the aircraft that a CFI must be agreed on in advance.

    "Buyer" pays of course.

However; one of the Stinsons was bought sight unseen by someone in Chapleau, Ont (?) .

    Paid for in advance.

We did have to do the Export C of A though.

      Re: Times change!

6 years ago I sold, much to my eventual dismay, a VERY nice Champ with an 85hp, new cylinders, starter, transponder, good bendix transceiver, wheel pants, etc. for 33,500.00. He drove from Culpepper Va. to near Buffalo, looked at it, looked at the logs which were VERY detailed, and bought it saying it was the nicest one he had seen...ever. It sold after two weeks in trade a plane with only 5 or 6 other calls. A pal of mine flew it to Culpepper. Shortly after that the new owner called and said he was redonig the brakes as they didn't work very well. My advice was to leave them alone. He had them redone, promptly jumped on them, turned the airplane over upside down and ruined it. I think he sold it after that. Today I probably could not get 25000.00 for it. JC

21,500 for an airplane? I cant even get 75.00 for good A-65 cylinder cores.

The Champ was fixed and is currently flying. Nice plane and well equipped.
