Re: AD Note
Hi Mikeg;
I took a cylinder to a cylinder repair styation in Opa Locka airport to have it re-done. The mechanic told me that he couldn't sign it off because there was an AD note on the cylinder spark plug inserts. I had 2 extra clyinders at home that I bought a few years ago for another engine so i inspected them and sure enough there were no inserts in them. Apparently those cylinders
with the inserts are no longer legal. This is not my saying but the mechanics saying. ..Sal

Re: AD Note
Sal,
I think the old cylinders are still usable. I haven't seen any information that removes them from service.
Most of the C series engines had them originally. The only thing you can buy now have the heli-coil thread inserts. But all of the new cylinders are interchangeable, providing you set them up for the engine application.
If you could find some more information about this condition I would be curious to know about it.

I think that you got little response because this is posted in the buy & sell section. I nearly never look in here. The daily discussion section probably gets more attention.
Dave.
