Does anyone know where I can find a legal ON/OFF fuel valve. I need two of them to control fuel from my wing tanks to nose. I have the old ones but they are in poor shape.

Re: ON/OFF Fuel valves????
Steve, Don't trash the old ones. It can be a pain but they can be fixed and they are getting hard to find by the guys trying to go back to all original. On a REALLY bad one you can even select plate the interior parts and regrind the mating surfaces.
Hank
Don't ask what a plate and regrind costs!

Re: ON/OFF Fuel valves????
Why not use a new valve like this one allowed by Aviat service bulletin. Much better valve and 21st century technoledge. Your A&P can get this field approved.

Re: ON/OFF Fuel valves????
Thanks for all the information! I have modified my Tcraft quite a bit so I dont need the original equipment and field approvals havent been a problem so far. I would be willing to sell my old valves after I get the project finished and have tome to sort things out.
What is the cost of fixing the old valves just out of curiosity. Can it be done by ones self or does it take special equipment?

Re: ON/OFF Fuel valves????
Cost to fix the valves will run from a couple of hours labor to take them apart and clean them to hundreds of dollars to have the bores select plated and reground
Hank
And I'm not talking about just a few hundreds! It's only worth it if you know plating and do it yourself. But then, some of us are just "plane" nuts. I redid the bores of my old Triumph brake and clutch masters, only to have aftermarket ones come out that were exactly the same as OE!
