I purchased a very nice BC12D 65 hp T-Craft several weeks ago. (My former 12D was ruined in a rotten hangar collapse(february) when snow built up.) I'm Having trouble finding hangar space and will not be taking it back to where I was, so.....Unless something turns up by end of April, I shall sell it. (tired of screwing around with it.) It is in perfect condition, all logs, fresh annual (april 2010) approx 600 hrs on engine. Currently its in NYS but will be in Maryland at 0W3 for a while). Anyone interested should pm me asap. (The aircraft has ALWAYS been hangared and is a 10 inside and a 10 outside.) JC

Just a thought. We usually have waiting lists for hangars. Often one can
do a sub lease, we have hangars with no planes or parts of planes Some of our corporate hangars will rent some space. One of my AC shares a hangar with a supercub in parts.The person whose name the hangar is in plans to restore it someday. I'm in for 1/2 the monthly rent. I expect to be able to stay in the hangar until I no longer have a need for the AC. At least several years away. I had a friend who had a good relationship with our largest maintenance shop and he was able to keep his plane in hangars of AC that were in for long term maintenacne issues untill he found his own hangar..L Fries

Usually, what happens in this area is politics. First there is a long waiting list as building hangars today is expensive and the return is diminishing. 2nd: The "waiting list" somehow gets "amended", or inother words, someone with pull or a "good ole boy" gets fanagled in without anyone knowing about it. (Sort of like the midnight votes in the Senate) You are not allowed to sublease so that is out. Hence, my decision.JCComment

Jim i know airplane covers are a pain, but why not use a set on your airplane and tie it down outside. I tied a Taylorcraft down outside for several years and had no trouble with it. It will beat not flying at all. MarvMarvin Post TF 519Comment

Hank has pictures of it. I do not know how to send them from this site. It will be coming down to maryland 1st part of May. IF hangar (temp.) does not work out I will know quickly. Airplane was recovered in 1994-96. Engine done at this time. It has flown 600 hrs. since then. ALWAYS hangared in Akron N.Y. Builder is a retired shop teacher in buffalo public schools and a maniac for detail. He won a trophy with it some years back at Sentimental Journey. The airplane I lost was equal or slightly nicer. (the two builders are buddys) I am still not over it as it WAS a one of a kind rebuild. The paint was VERY well done. Both gentlemen are GENTLEMEN and very honest. This current airplane is as good regarding craftsmanship. I trust him 100%. An American Airline capt. has expressed interest in it and will be coming east later to lay an eye on it. Price is 25000-26000. range. Firm. JC PS. I will TRY and send pictures now!Comment

Just received today the logs, spare parts, and a box full of old T craft magazine ads! Things like picture of Forest Barber (test pilot) standing in front of T Craft while the President, Mrs. M, watches final touches being applied. Picture of 1946 Deluxe T Craft, which shows EXACT paint scheme of one I now own. I learn that the T Craft was for farmers, ranchers, and the "businessman who needs to travel rapidly". Taylorcraft exploded factory views of BC12D, drawings of all parts of BC12D and ALL logs since it was delivered new in 1946 to Oscar Hostetter, President of York, Penna. airport. He was a T-CRAFT dealer and I knew him in the 60's, rented a house from him, worked in York, and flew both of his T-Craft tandems, painted orange and dark blue! Oscar ran a VERY nice operation, excellent shop forman, Don Klahold, and did charter in an early Aero Commander. The logs I now have, are the most detailed I have ever seen, with legible signatures no less! The airplane wound up in western N.Y. state and was owned by the fellow I bought it from since 1977. He did beautiful work on it and won a trophy with it. I have found a nice hanger for it and will keep it. It was just annualed and passed with an almost perfect. If I DO sell it, it will be for a much higher price. Also have the original certificate of test flight at factory and detailed history of where it went and who owned it. JCComment

Speaking of 48 FORDS! At the coffee shop the other morning, parked in front was a PERFECT dark red 48 Ford Sedan, flathead, reworked with headers. All parts of this car were perfect from frame up, perfect! Original type upholstry, dash redone EXACTLY, white walls, big ones, bumpers, perfect, and on and on. Thankfully....THANKFULLY it had not been chopped and f---ed up! It was a show stopper! Said it took him 5 years to "Get it right".JCComment

A coupe was my first car, hence the name, its easy to remember. My first plane ride ,t craft,in 1948,
