Looking for Trim Tail Pulley

Apparently, the trim pulley located in the tail cone, in-between the two horizontal stabilizers, is not rotating as it should and the trim wire just runs around the pulley and, therefore, the the trim pulley fin does not move.... Does anyone have a spare one or where can I get a new one...part number?
It appears to be the original one.

Are you sure its the pulley and not the jackscrew. My scres seized
due to lack of lubrication, I was able to free the jackscrew and now try to remember to lube it once in a while.

We'll try that. Thru the inspection hole, we were able to spray some lubricant into the jack screw, but it appears that the pulley is not moving...it does sometimes though. The next step, I think will be remove the horiz stabl., remove the pulley and better see how the jack screw is working. It appears OK.
I think that the pulley is either gone or so dirty that it can not rotate freely. Just in case I need to replace the pulley, I want to be ready to replace it and assemble the tail feathers pretty quick. Spring is here and good flying weather too.

Do a search on trim pulley, pulley's, or trim system. You will find conversation about the shape of the bottom of the pulley versus the shape of the cable. Veeing the pulley in the bottom of the grove may be all you have to do if the jack screw is functioning. Larry

I think it just needs a good cleaning & lube... The jack screw works OK. Just want to be ready in case I need to replace the pulley

BTW, the search under "Trim Pulley" gave plenty of info. I have previously searched for "rear pulley" and "pulley" as well as other misspelled words...

I have heard there is a program that can be used for searches that triues different misspellings automatically. They use it on eBay a lot to find hidden deals. Unfortunately, I can't remember how they spell the program name!

Couple of pieces of phenolic, a drill press and a sandpaper block and I bet I could make one. How much time do you have? I have a lath that would be perfect to make it, but it has been waiting to be set up for about 20 years now.

Thanks for the offer. I will first clean the pulley and oil the jack screw and the other components... We have an inspection opening under the Horiztl Stablzr. In case we need to replace the pulley, we would like to know which pulley to use. Does anybody knows? Univair, Wag, etc...

It is a specialized pulley and not just another control pulley.
However,
Unless your pulley is all broken and chewed-up, you should just be able to re-make the V groove and it will work well again.

Method one: Rotate the pulley while dragging a fine hacksaw blade in the groove.
Method two: Rotate the pulley while scoring the groove with a needle file.

Both methods work.

Probably your old pulley is ok or can be repaired. I used the needle file shown in the photo to clean out the groove. If the rim of the pulley is chipped or broken it can be repaired with fiberglass and epoxy. Acetone or mineral spirits on a rag will clean the cable.

While you're back there with the cable off the pulley, try turning the pulley by hand. It should turn easily and actuate the trim tab through it's range without binding at any point.
