12 hours ago the hangar my t-craft was in collapsed, destroying my newly rebuilt airplane. It was insured but I doubt if I'll be able to find another as nice. (see taylorcraft photos, scroll to about 5 look for 95916 at Mayville, ny.) So I am on the hunt. Must have starter (mine did not) electrical system and 85 hp or more. Up to date logs, good paper trail with all ad's 337's etc. complied with. I live near Baltimore, Md. and would prefer airplane not too far away. Should be 9-10 inside and out,( recent recover, new struts) HANGARED! Thanks JC

Mine is for sale though experimental and in Canada. Search experimental in
this forum to find the details on my aircraft for sale. I'm a long way from you but I could deliver .

Sorry for your loss. I had a tornado hit my hanger last summer, very rare in Michigan. If your interested in an easy project I have any experimental with a fresh O-320,all new panel & gauges, fuselage ready to cover, 2 new extra large wing tanks, new interior & headliner installed hyd heel brakes, plus lots of things I'm forgetting. Wings need rebuilt. It's Taylorcoupe N2806W I really don't want to but probably should due to a recent job loss after 33 years with the same Co. It will be a super performer. Contact me off line if your seriously interested. Thanks Eric

          Eric,
if Jim doesn't want your project I may. I'm trying to decide which way to
go, larger engine or sell and buy something bigger like a 172 on floats. Anyway
if you give me your cell or phone number we could discuss this further .

Hi Jim, sorry to here about your plane, the recent snowfall down there must have been too much for the hangar roof, if I recall correctly you bought that ship from around here in WNY, I think Marty from Quaker Flying services looked it over in Mayville?
Anyway, I have a BC-12D that might be available, just can't see mto find the time to finish it, it would not take much, price would be reasonable, you could transfer your engine and electrics into it, believe there are 337's avl from others who have done this, Forrest could probably tell you were to look.

                  Re: looking for T-Craft

Thanks for all your replys! Yes it IS the airplane Marty annualed at Dart airport last summer. I brought it home to(W42) Maryland because a hangar had collapsed at Dart the winter before! In this case, the hangar (wood, like Dart) had had no preventive maint. for many years and I left it there with many misgivings. I should NOT have done that. I go up to Lake Chautauqua every summer as I was born there and haveflying buddys there. Russ Hardy , who built the T-craft is from Amhurst and took four years building it. It was a show stopper! I am a lousy mechanic so have to buy one thats finished. I'm 73 and would like one with a starter so will keep looking.....or may just call it a day! Again, many thanks for your replys! JC

How much is this worth? 1946 T-Craft, rebuilt 10 yrs ago, Ceconite, poly. Painted scheme of deluxe '46, very light creme, red trim. Wheel Pants, Panel is very clean with basic instruments and elect. system for nav. lights. Engine is 65 cont. 600 hrs since Major. Under hood is VERY clean! Exhaust redone last year. Struts xrayed and lower fittings inspected at this time. ALWAYS HANGARED except for overnight at 2 airshows where it won first prize, one at Sentimental Journey. The builder taught shop at public schools for 28 years. Wooden Prop in very good cond. ( I do not like them) Airplane is VERY clean and comes with fresh annual and all logs, and Icom, push to talk mounted left side of pilot. Knowing that this is a tough call without seeing it. Price range please! Let me know hat you guys think its worth. Thanks! JC

My guess that it would be worth around the 22K mark if all is in working
order. Assuming the engine was rebuilt as well ?

Jim i think i would be careful. He cut corners using a wood prop and did not buy new struts. I wander what else he went cheap with. Marv

I wouldn't consider these items to be cutting corners. I would choose a wood prop over metal anyday. For the sruts early on no new struts were available, so testing was the only option. He may have chose to test and keep the original size struts. I can see both choices being made to keep the airplane as original as possible for a show plane. Tom
