Does anyone have a set of the original style inside window frames? The ones that you remove to change the glass. I think the part number is 1620-3 L/R

        Jason,
I've got a couple of sets from a BC12D. One set for a straight top and the other set for curved.Maybe that will help.

          Kevin,

I'll look at the doors more closely monday and let you know. You might take a look at the doors on the F19 fuse you have and compare them to the frames you have. I may end up making a set since this customer is really picky about how every thing looks.

not any more, Although I removed it while I owned my F19 it went with the airplane when I sold it. Have you thought about getting a field approval on the Hawker light weight batt that a lot of S.C. guys are putting under the front seat. http://www.dansaircraft.com/album_stcd_items/14.html

Re: looking for door window frames

Jason and Kevin, excuse me for horning in on your thread, but I see that Kevin has no listed e-mail address and I'm also interested in a window (sliding) to replace the fixed one in the right (only) door of my BC12D1.

                Thanks!

Re: looking for door window frames

The inner window frame is the same regardless of weather or not you have a one piece or slider window.

The airplane I am working on has some home brew type wood frame work that just aint going to work.

Re: looking for door window frames

                      Jason,
That is incorrect. The frame for the sliders doesn't set as deep in the door and is not as thick(or deep). They will normally interchange or can be made to interchange but they are different. Also, there are 3,maybe 4 different types and styles of doors used on the postwar birds. The frames were different on some of them as well depending on what type of door frame was used(when I say door frame I am talking about the door frame that attaches to the fuse to house the door). Some doors we curved at top(for the wood door frames),some were straight(for the metal frames),and the F-19 used pretty much the same door as the metal frame BC12D but the door skins rivit on rather then spot weld. This shouldn't affect the window frame but I just checked and none of the window frames from the older doors will fit the F-19.They could be made to fit but it would be easier to just make new ones. Hope this helps.

Re: looking for door window frames

Hey thanks for the heads up Kevin. The parts book I referenced did not show different part numbers for the frames. I am familiar with the metal vs' wood door frames on the fuse, and the spot weld vs' riveted doors. But never noticed much difference between the inner window frames in regards to fixed vs' sliding windows. I'll remember to take a closer look at the next Tcraft I see. Thanks for checking for me. Time to break out the sheet metal tools.

It's not hard to make them especially if you have an old one for a pattern.
