  • 1943 Taylorcraft L-2B For Sale

    Due to an unforseen family issue I am forced to sell my Taylorcraft L-2B. Please feel free to send me a private message with your e-mail address for additional pictures.

    Serial number L-4960/military s/n 43-385
    ACTT: 2372.22 hours
    Engine: 223.51 hours
    Aircraft was re-built in 1993 and is one of the better examples out there of an L-2B. The aircraft is also Light Sport with a gross weight of 1,300 lbs. 14 gallons of fuel with a 4 gal/hour burn rate. Autofuel STC also included. Continental A-65 with McCauley 74-41 metal prop. About 83 mph level flight and is a hands off aircraft once trimmed. I am asking $34,000.00. I will be starting to list this aircraft on Barnstormers, etc., soon. Aircraft comes with a fresh annual, in-process now. I also have a rebuilt zero time A-75 for sale at $2,500.00. I also have a low time A-65 disassembled if anyone is interested. I am located in Springfield, IL. Thanks, and it has been great talking to everyone!

    Marty;
    Say it ain't so. I'm sorry you've got to sell your baby. My condolences for the necessity, my hopes that you resolve the issue soon, and you get another L2 down that road.

    I wouldn't be a buyer of your plane but let me know if you've collected any militaria that goes with it. Authetic medical kit, nav board, rifle carrier, binoc-holster, that kind of stuff. With regards, best wishes, and my compliments always;
    ED OBRIEN.

      Ed,

      I have the medical kit, completely stocked. Let me see what I paid for it and you can have it for that price. I'll send you a pic, it is still in the plastic I bought it in. I also have a set of 1942 binoculars and a correct shoulder holster, dated 1943, and a hollywood-style .45 Colt that actually works with blanks, cycles and everything. I also have a pair WWII era headsets that will be for sale. I also have the correct fire extinguisher and mount that goes behind the front seat. Let me know.

                  Restoring an L2M...looking for a lot of interior parts right now like radios, fire extinguisher, med kit...

                  Hate to hear you're selling. I think I miss every airplane I've sold, but sometime you gotta do what you gotta do.

                  Let me know if you have anything that can help us and part of your labor will live on,

                    Rob,

                    Sorry, the med kit is sold as well as the extinguisher. I have a couple of very nice HS-33 headsets, WWII vintage, I will be selling as well as some 1942 dated binoculars. I have a WWII vintage map of the French coastal area too, I believe. Let me know.
