  • Need Crankshaft for A-65-8

Does anyone know where I can get a yellow tagged crankshaft fo the A-65-8?
Either straight or tapered will do.

    Thanks..

      Re: Need Crankshaft for A-65-8

      Dan,
I have an A65-8 setting in my floor that is still in annual. I removed it from Jerry Selfs old t-craft and replaced it with a 0 smoh engine. It was running when it came in here but had a low speed miss that turned out to be a combination if a weak lifter and a worn camshaft lobe.It was last majored in 1965 with everything standard then in 1977 it was disassembled, one case half replace, new camshaft, crank polished and still checked perfect(standard) and reassembled. In 1994 it was topped with all 4 cylinders being chromed to standard, new pistons, new rings, all new valves, all new valve seats, all new valve guides, and new rocker shafts. This engine has 1205 since major overhaul, 240 since top overhaul, and 900 since the teardown inspection in 1977. When I removed this engine it had no steel or metal in the screen, the compressions were good, and it was running fine at high rpm'm but had a consistant back fire and miss at low rpm's which turned out to be a worn cam and a couple of weak lifters. This would make a great rebuild engine, parts engine, or what ever......it was using some oil also but I'm not sure how much. This engine does need and should be overhauled before trying to fly it. The owner would like to get $1500 for it. There are no accessories included. The crank, case, cylinders, and gears should all be great.
