Thanks for all the input. I decided against the BC-12 purchase and bought an F19 project. I dropped it off this week with Mike Redpath for the rebuild. Looking forward to seeing the progress and getting her flying again.

Ah ha the project Mike has been posting. Good deal!

This whole covering issue is an issue fo sho !

The amount of $ and time one spends bringing one back from the frame out is as far as current market value...and although climbing in value never going to be recoup in $$. However consider once made new again one will enjoy (as will future pilots) a plane with a low cost to operate with excellent flying qualities not to mention a beautiful aircraft. My opinion one of the most beautiful ever built.

Remember "what there is is all there is"

Yeah when looking at it from a money point of view it’s a losing deal for sure, but that’s not why I’m doing it (as with most everyone else on here). It’s the exact plane I want for all the qualities of Taylorcraft we are familiar with, there’s emotional value with family memories I have in Taylorcrafts and it will essentially be a new plane, just how I want it, that can last me for a long while and with reasonable operating costs. And yes they’re just nice to look at!
