  • cowl trunk latches

Does anyone have two good bottom half trunk latches that they would like to sell. Two of mine have wallered out the pin holes. 1946 BC12D, I would also buy complete sets if that's what you want to do.
    Thanks,
    Tom

If nothing comes along here, I wonder if something could be found on Ebay?, I remember my grandfather having a trunk that had the exact latches that were on the cowling, it seems like that was a section in Chet Peeks Taylorcraft book where some designers were upset when CG brought in the latches from the local furniture store, I've always liked the looks, sort of antiquey, gary

Another option might be to weld up the holes and re drill. I used my TIG welder to repair a couple of problems with mine and worked out well. I believe i used a chromoly filler rod but a mild steel rod would work for repairing those holes.

I have repaired mine as there doesn't seem to be any available. I found several trunk latches but most are considerably smaller.
        Thanks,
        Tom
