Need part for Cont. C-85-12

Making progress on 1946 BC-12D project. Found a Continental 85 to rebuild. I need a serviceable cover for the rear of crankcase. It is shown in parts book as:
Cover A55 Crankcase P/N 6726A1

Does the cover accommodate a starter? A generator?

I didnt find that number in the current manual that I have, are you talking about the accessory housing where the oil pump gears are located? Tim

The 6726A1 Crankcase Cover (accessory case) is an early p/n used on the C75 and C85. It supercedes to p/n 627307A10 which, according to the latest parts manual is used on the C75 through 0200.

Yes It also takes starter and generator.

Well I am trading a NOS IO-240 accy housing for a yellow tagged O-200 one, I would have like to use the 240 one on my 200 but the oil pump gears are about .200" wider than O-300 gears....and are another $1600 for the gears on top of what I paid for the accessory housing. tim
