  • Looking for serviceable landing gear

I am restoring a 1946 BC 12D. The axles on both gear legs are pitted badly and are worn down where the bearings obviously have spun.

If anyone has a set that is serviceable for sale, please contact me. 307-287-4261

I have a few sets, some will have repairs.

What time frame are you needing them?

Dan, new struts are available from Univair, spendy but worth having new metal if its a full rebuild. I have one spare, looking for the other side but I have not found one yet that has not been repaired multiple times. Also add the reinforcing tube between the upright and diagonal, usually a 1/2" piece of round tubing, keeps the diagonal from bucking when side loaded. If you need any help, I used to work and live in Cheyenne for Boeing and if you need me to come over, I can. Tim

Hi Dave, I need ones without repairs and good serviceable axles. Just getting started replacing wing spars, etc. so will be awhile before I have to have them. I am new to this site so not familiar. Can you post pictures? What is best way to proceed. Where are you located?

            Hi Tim,

I suspect i may have to get new ones. Is there a drawing somewhere of where to add the brace. We saw where someone had added a brace in a 337 but didn't understand what they were talking about. Thanks for helping explain the location and purpose. At this time just plugging away at taking a wing apart. Will probably be needing some ribs and confused about built up vs stamped and what can be obtained. Univair said they may be stocking them again and to call after the first of the year. Don't need any specific help at this time but would love to have you visit. I am retired and pretty flexible.

            thanks,

            Dan

Here is a set of pre-war, not sure of any differences, that was just put up on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/302127152743?ul_noapp=true
              Cheers,
