  • Need an annual in Central Ohio

    Hey tribe,

Anyone have a suggestion for a reasonable IA to give me an annual in central Ohio?

I had came across a great guy here on the boards last year who was instrumental in getting my T-craft back airborne after something like 5 or 6 years of being grounded. We put a ton of work into all of the little things needed to get her primed for some good times in the sky again. He drove a couple hours + round trip almost every weekend until she was ready to go last year!

My son and I put more than a few hours on her last year before putting her away for the winter (between work, weather, short days, and lack of motivation, my winter flying is usually limited).

Anyway it came time to get the annual done. I reached out, and he seemed motivated to get her renewed, but a date was never set, and it never happened. I have made several attempts to reach him, and haven't received so much as a text back. I wish him well. I hope nothing negative has impacted his life. It is tough to let go and move on after building that kind of relationship between mechanic, owner, and airplane, but the temps have been tolerable and the skies have been blue. I guess I need to move on.

I really like having someone who knows and appreciates these old birds, so any suggestions would be appreciated!

Fly her to Utah, I would get it in annual....I used to goto New Mexico, but Ohio is a little far to drive for me right now....but the offer is open. Tim

Might give Ed McCormick a call at the Hardin Co. airport.(Kenton, Ohio) 419-673-9542. Ed is very familiar with T-crafts and Luscombe airplanes, plus other old birds, and new stuff. Good IA.

Thanks fellas! Tim, that may be a bit far considering my schedule and the ferry permit required. The offer is appreciated however.

Mike I will give Ed a call and see what he says. Thanks!

Try Stewart Aviation at Red Stewart Airport, Waynesville, Ohio. It's a grass strip and they specialize in tube and fabric! http://www.stewartsaircraft.net/ Phone Number : 513-897-7717. I flew a couple of their airplanes a few of years ago when I was doing contract work in Piketon, Ohio. They're really good folks!!!!!
