I took your advice and had mine powdercoated and I love it. Then decided to re-do the glare shield and it looks a lot better. Think I'll post some pictures of the completed work later.

If you are going to go through that much work, (I did), have it powder-coated. They do wrinkle-black, too. My gloss black panel looks fantastic and you won't have to worry about re-doing it later.[/QUOTE]
I got rid of my metal glare shield and went with the original-type of cardboard. It is just like the rear seat window decks in older cars, black coated heavy cardboard. There are threads on here covering this. It is easy to work with and lighter than aluminum. You can usually get this at car upholstery businesses. I had my local upholstery guy order the cardboard, (enough to do a couple of them if you mess up), and had him make a simple bead for the front to cover the cardboard edge, just like factory original.
Marty and others in doing the new interior for the Stinson i found this place in Corinth Ms they have an inventory of fabric,vinal and hardware for any kind of vehicle from the 1920's to present there Albright's Supply phone #662 287 1415 they have a large catalogue and ship also.I also did the panel in gloss black in the stinson.
