  • Looking for an Eisemann AM-4 and/or impulse Scintilla SF4RN-8

Greetings all. Looking for an Eisemann AM-4 for N43319. Also/or could use the parts needed to put an impulse on a Bendix-Scintilla SF4RN-8.
I'm kind of mix-matched on mags at the moment. Have a good AM-4 with impulse on the right side. Have Scintillas available but no impulse.

If someone would rather trade/swap or ???, I have:

-Lots of Stromberg bits, a complete carb in good shape too.
-A decent supply of Champion C26 plugs, M41N plugs, and Autolite 18-A1's.
-Misc. A-65 parts and a few cases.
-What do ya need ? :-)

    Thanks
    Stumpy

Are you looking for a serviceable unit or a core? I think I have a couple of cores out at the airport, I'll take a look this evening and see.

That'd be great! Thanks for taking a look. Hoping to find a serviceable mag but "beggars can't be choosers...".... Hopefully can put together something. Having the Scintilla on the left side And the "little E" on the right is a bit odd lookin'.
      Thanks again

Stumpy, give that Vern fellow that's selling the Deluxe a call. He's got a B-stormer add and there's been a thread or two started in here about that aircraft. I spoke with him for a while a couple weekes ago on the phone, and I think he might be able to help you out. Really nice guy, and it's worth a shot.

          Dave,

Thanks. That's N36433 in Nebraska, correct? The ad says to talk to his friend, but you talked to Vernon? I will get hold of them and see what's up. Guessing he must have some spare bits, eh? Thanks again.

Oh...meant to ask you, off the topic...what's with the Clovis point picture for your avatar? Nice point. You find it?

The stone point is cool, but are you reading a manual for the F-18 in your Avatar? It isn't big enough to be a NATOPS (unless they have converted the Hornet NATOPS to comic book form). ;-) Is that GRU-7 seat you are in? I'm not even sure that is a Hornet.

Tomcats and Intruders forever! OUR NATOPS were so heavy we couldn't carry them in the plane!

              Hank,

Canadian Hornets are of course exceptional aeroplanes... No NATOPS there...just some random "pilot porn..." Was "Flying" I think, or "Kitplanes," or perhaps even an old copy of the (gasp!) "Experimenter." ;-)

If you do a Ne. search on Barnstormers you'll see Verns other add. It's a hanger cleaning add and a simple "Taylorcraft" search won't bring it up. I'm on my phone so I can't give a link....but he says he's got spare mags.

The point in my avatar is actually a Folsom. I've got a bunch of Folsom material including one complete point. My avatar isn't mine, it's the point from the original type site.

Fresno Airparts should have Bendix mags that have been overhauled with new plugs and wires for about $750 per pair. I suspect that you can buy just one.

They had them a few years ago.

I thought you guys got the seats with no head box initiator handles. The picture looked like a two seat Hornet looking back on the rear seat but the handle over your head threw me. Our Hornets have NACES seats now (I think, they changed them after I left working on the program). There used to be a lot of rivalry between the Hornet community and the F-14/A-6 guys. We were kind of thick with Grumman Iron Works. Lot of prejudice back in the day against the "Lawn Darts". They are all we see now days around Oceana. I really miss the "sing-song" of the F-14 (TF-30s and F-110s) and the screech of the J-52s in the A-6. Even the E-2 sound is gone now. They used to "HUM" but with the new props their signature sound is gone.
If you want REAL nostalgia, you have to go back to the F-8 Crusaders. Now THAT was an impressive sound!

Thanks Matthew, Dave, Marty. A friend sent that pic Hank...it's an old one. I think it's an older series that the OTU at Cold Lake was using at the time...my memory banks are beginning to operate at less than optimum baud rates though...
