I have a Taylorcraft project with no paperwork for sale. I believe it is pre-war 1938 to 1940. Project includes: built-up ribs, landing gear, jury struts, tailwheel, fuselage, struts, compression tubes, fuel tank, cowling(open), boot cowl, nose ribs, and the tail feathers( three hinged), etc. I can part it out or you take it all for $1500.00. I can also be reached at 816-507-1498. Thanks Garrett.

Re: Pre war Taylorcraft
I have Josh's paperwork from his heavily damaged plane that could be combined with this to be rebuilt. If someone is SERIOUS about a factory original restoration this could be a fine marriage.
Hank
For selfish reasons, I would really like the restoration to be in the mid Atlantic area. I don't need his plane, but I REALLY want it to be rebuilt like Josh would have wanted. He was a very special person in the Tribe and rebuilding his plane would be a fantastic tribute to him.

Apparently you got my e-mail. At least it is closer but I don't think Garrett knows what you are talking about as this is his first post.
Welcome Garrett!Cheers,

Re: Pre war Taylorcraft
Just got your email Marty. I guess I should explain for Garrett. Josh was a member here who passed on a while ago (in the plane I have papers on now, although not due to the plane). I ended up with most of the remaining parts. It is FAR beyond rebuilding, but Josh always wanted to return it to factory new configuration. Josh was a real artist in making replacement details for our planes and he and I made a number of placards and small parts to try and bring planes closer with items no longer available. As it happens, I have a full set of those parts for his plane, but no plane to put them on. I have been watching for a paperless plane for some time to join forces with, using many small parts from his original, including serial numbers, data plates and complete paperwork. Officially it would be a restoration of Josh's plane by replacement of all the damaged parts, but what it would end up being would be a fully legal, properly documented restored plane.
Josh's plane has a lot of sentimental value to the Tribe as he was a "friend to all" and quite a guy. All of the usable part of his plane are in my hangar, just waiting for transplant to a "lost soul" donor plane. A paperless plane has pretty low value. Planeless paper is also not worth much (at least in cash). Together, combined with the history Josh created, there is potential for a really special plane.
I want to make sure wherever the paper goes, the plane it goes to is a really nice one when finished. I would love for Laura (his widow) to see a Bronze Lindy for Josh's plane someday.
Hank
