  • Right side brakes on a BC12-D

After having explored the option of using clips when recovering my wings, I have decided to spend the money somewhere else and rib stitch. Part of that somewhere else is putting brakes on the right side of the airplane. I want give my 3 boys tailwheel training and checkouts in the airplane and, even though the brakes are usually marginally effective, want to at least have the option of attempting to avoid runway lights and scraped wingtips on a newly restored airplane. Does anyone have the bracket for right side brakes that they would be willing to sell, or know where I can find one? I would also like to find a drawing of the set up if there is one. Really having fun digging into this airplane. Just like a lot of guys tracking down their first car and restoring it, doing it with my first airplane is a hoot! Just have to figure out how to fit that Garmin 1000 in the panel.

My 45 had factory RH brakes (welded in) but I haven't exactly figured out how they rigged them so you could make them work from either seat. If you find documentation please share with the rest of us. Yell if you want posted photos of the factory welded brakes.

There is a lot of information on this if you use the search function. Diagrams also have been posted. Good luck!

Thx. Will check it out. Had them on a 41 my dad and I used to own. Taught him to fly in it and they came in real handy. Long time ago.

Anybody happen to know where a guy can get a bolt on brake bracket for the right side? Going to put them on if I can. Have owned TCrafts with and without. Would rather have them for giving tail wheel checkouts. Never hurts to have that extra control item waiting there just in case. Came in handy a couple of times when I was teaching my dad to fly years ago.
