I know it is a different source of corrosion, but I recently had a Maglite flashlight that I could not unscrew the end after battery leak/corrosion. Even in a cushioned jaw vice and water pump pliers. Sprayed it with tuner contact spray a few times and it broke free with a little persuasion and unscrewed by hand. Might be worth a try if Radio Shack isn't too far away.

All four handles are the same on my plane. Attached are a couple of pictures you posted back in 6/11. My handles are the top one in the photos.

My handles are also like the top ones in the photo above.

I really like Corrosion X for getting things broke loose like that.
