I had a call from L-2B restorer John Stevenson from North Carolina, looking for help to find a replacement part. He described a piece of the parking brake system that has worn cogs. Does anyone know if there are new-old-stock parts around for this, or a drawing?

Re: L-2 Parking Brake Worn Cog
Terry,
Did you ever get a copy of the drawing for the parking brake locking assembly (part #D-A503).
It is not listed in my drawings CD. Perhaps they had a part number change. Mine doesn't work either and it would be nice to be able to set the parking brake when on sloping terrain long enough to get out and throw some chocks under the wheels.Bob Picard

No.. the only source I know is that Forrest says he has a copy. I am not sure what Mr. Stephenson ended up with on his airplane.Terry Bowden, formerly TF # 351

Re: L-2 Parking Brake Worn Cog
Perhaps someone has one that works that I can copy. I'm not sure if those things had teeth in them in the first place. It may just work on an eccentric, you know, like a Chinese finger puzzle, the harder the pull the more it locks.Bob Picard

Re: L-2 Parking Brake Worn Cog
Lacking the availability of a drawing, perhaps someone has a working part that has been removed for a restoration or some other reason and make a tracing of the ellipse and send it to me. PM me and I'll give you a fax number to send me a copy.Bob Picard
