C.A.P. - Drawings for L-2 Wing Fuel Tanks 6-gallon
Re: C.A.P. - Drawings for L-2 Wing Fuel Tanks 6-gallon
Dick,
Not at this time, but it will be a simple revision. Its just a single tube pass-through. I have an L-2M tank here to get that measurement from.
For those wondering what we are talking about... Here's a photo of an L-2M tank that Dick is talking about with extra tube (with white tape on it) for spoiler control pass-thru.
Re: C.A.P. - Drawings for L-2 Wing Fuel Tanks 6-gallon
Tom,
It is do-able, but expensive unless you make the tanks yourself. I made a set of approved drawings (originally prepared for another customer who fabricated his own tanks) for addition of 2 extra 5-gallon cells in the next rib bay outboard. It was a good set-up, but somewhat complex. If interested, give me a call and lets discuss it.
Even better, though...
I am currently developing another drawing (with another L-2 owner) for two extra-wide 9-gallon tanks to replace the original tanks. This will require a wing modification to move a rib and some other small changes. This will be done as a Major alteration under 337 with DER approved data. For the current project, the owner is going to fabricate the parts himself. Once we get his approved, I will offer the drawings and approval for sale.
Parts fabrication is the big cost issue. If you want me to get tanks fabricated for you, here's the options I can offer.
Two 6-gallon tanks (as pictured on my webpage) and approved drawings for $ 1,750.
or soon to be available (by summer I hope)...
Two 9-gallon tanks (as described above) and approved drawings for $ 1,950.
If you buy these, they will be considered Owner Produced Parts and you are responsible for verifying they meet the approved data.
